Women Only Dating App

The world of dating has become more exclusive with a women only dating app. The Washington Post reports on a dating app just for women. “Her” is aimed at lesbian women who want to link up with other lesbian women who live nearby. The programming of this dating app promises to accelerate the dating process.

When you open up Her, a women-only dating app that started in Britain and just launched across the United States, it seems very confident. “Finding you all of the babes,” it promises as it pulls up profiles of other queer women nearby.

But those are the last words you are going to see for a while. The app offers little more than photos, so a user’s profile is essentially a mini Instagram feed. It’s a model that’s both refreshing and baffling.

fter being trained on wordier, profiles like those on OkCupid and even Tinder, there’s an initial shock using Her. It’s kind of sweetly organic that way: When you “like” a user’s photo, she gets a notification and then has the option of chatting with you. If you both like photos on each other’s pages, it’s a “match,” and you are then prompted to chat: an accelerated version of what might happen between two strangers giving each other the eye at a club.

For women of like interests this women only dating app promises to help with the process of finding and getting to know someone new and interesting.

And the Drawbacks

We have written about the drawbacks of dating apps that alert someone else to the fact that you live or are currently nearby. In our article Identify Theft with Dating Apps we look at the drawbacks of too much intrusive technology.

A dating app that functions as designed is a problem a well. Happn dating app allows users to connect to users who pass within a 250 radius.

Happn is the latest addition to the app-based dating scene. Happn helps you track down strangers whom you’ve walked past or queued for a coffee behind at Pret. Rather than liking random people to match with in your general location (like Tinder), Happn uses GPS to connect users who cross paths within a 250 metre radius. So, whoever you encounter (knowingly or not) and like the look of, you can see if they’re on Happn and tap the app’s “heart” symbol to show your interest. If they heart you back then the dating begins.

This one is not about identity theft with dating apps but rather leaving yourself open to some nut case who decides to stalk you!

Just remember on the women only dating app that when you like someone you may have tipped off the person that you live or work nearby which is a problem if they are on the up and up.

An Answer to a Prayer

The wonderful part of this women only dating app is that it allows women whose sexual preference is other women to meet, communicate and get together without having to worry about revealing their sexual preferences outside of their chosen social circle. After all who you date and sleep with and what you do when you are alone are no one else’s business!
