Make a Great First Impression
If you want to see the man or woman of your dreams again, try to make a great first impression. We may believe that when we meet that special person, he or she will instantly see us for the wonderful person that we are. Or we may believe that no matter how hard we try that that special someone is just too good for us, no matter what we do. Both of these beliefs are wrong! You can do and say things that will make a first great impression but it make take a little effort on your part. Here are a few suggestions.
Dress Well But For The Occasion To Make A Great First Impression
If you expect to meet mister or miss perfect at a wedding you can dress up. Armani suits, silk ties from Bergdorf Goodman’s, and shoes from Berluti’s are all OK if you want to wow miss perfect. If you are miss perfect and want to wow mister wonderful a designer dress and matching shoes would be nice, perhaps with a string of pearls for accent. However, if you are getting together at the neighborhood Italian restaurant a snappy casual look will do just fine for both men and women. Don’t try to be provocative on a first date if you want to make a great first impression. No matter what, avoid looking like you don’t care what you wear because it comes off as not caring what he or she thinks.
Where To Go To Make A Great First Impression
The best choices of where to go to make a great first impression have more to do with getting to know the other person and letting them get to know you. Restaurants, concerts, sporting events, or any event where you need to scream to be heard are a bad choice. Choose a neutral location. Avoid high priced restaurants, concerts, and the like as you will be setting the bar rather high for the next date. And, you may just been to be showing off which is not how to make a great first impression.
What to Say to Make a Great First Impression
To make a first great impression saying less is better than saying more. Conversations should be two sided. Don’t bore that special someone with detailed accounts of your life’s troubles or you last boyfriend or girlfriend. Tell a funny story or talk, briefly, about something interesting in your life. Then invite that special someone to tell you about something interesting. Everyone likes talk about themselves. Listen and you will make a great first impression.
What To Do To Make A Great First Impression
This has to do with how you look and act. Try not to fidget. Avoid scratching yourself, anywhere! Use an interesting but not offensive cologne or perfume. Avoid pushing the conversation and be aware if your new friend seems uncomfortable or distracted. And never pay more attention to someone else when you want to make a great first impression on that special someone.
And remember this. There are people whom you can never please, no matter how hard you try. So give it your best shot but don’t let yourself be pulled into an eternal quest to please a person who keeps raising their standards. And don’t get so involved in making a good impression that you ignore the fact that you really don’t like this new person.
