Kissing on the First Date

Kissing on the first date can be a lot of fun. Also, kissing on the first date might send the wrong message to your new boyfriend or girlfriend. How do you know whether or not kissing on the first date is OK? How do you know when to kiss on the first date? How do you kiss on the first date? And then what do you do?

Kissing on the first date might be a peck on the cheek or a brief touching of lips at the end of the date, a goodbye. Kissing the first date might also be a bit more passionate and associated with a warm embrace. Those kisses might be repeated and lead to more. More might be welcome and more might be more than you bargained for. If you wanted a first date in order to meet your new friend you might have wanted a little time to think about whether or not you want another date. Brief and non-passionate kissing on the first date sends the message to the other person that you were pleased with the date and that you might be interested in seeing them again. Passionate kissing on the first date sends the message that you really want to see the other person again and, perhaps, in a more private setting.

How to I know if the man or woman I am dating wants to be kissed? There is not guarantee but if he or she wants to be kissed they will be maintaining eye contact, touching hands, or moving closer.

When to kiss is traditionally at the end of the date, a sort of fond goodbye. However, there is no hard and fast rule. It is perfectly fine to kiss someone part way through the date if you really believe that they will be receptive. Here is where how to kiss applies to kissing on the first date. A peck on the cheek or brief touching of the lips will seldom get you in trouble. So called French kissing with a lot of use of the tongue may be totally welcome in a passionate setting but may be a little surprising and a real turnoff to someone who is not expecting it.

Anyway, we have talked about kissing on the first date. You kissed. Maybe you embraced. Now what? How your new friend responds to the kissing on the first date will tell you a lot. Providing that you did not move too fast and scare the other person away he or she may want to initiate the next kiss and kiss you back. That would obviously be a good sign. If your kiss or kissing was prolonged and passionate you may find yourselves looking for a more private setting, asking a roommate to leave, or just going home frustrated. A final notes is that in this day and age many expect at least a brief kiss at the end of the date as a sign that you are interested in them. The lack of a kiss may make the person you are dating think that you are not interested in kissing on the first date, not interested in kissing them, or perhaps, not interested in a person of their gender!
